Reasons I Love Twilight - #9...

Reason # 9 – Edward

Seriously, what is there to say about Edward that I haven’t already said? He’s just amazing. I think the reason he is so loved by fans is that he is different from boys, or men in general, today. He is courteous, chaste, unselfish, giving, kind, smart, responsible, funny, dedicated, loving… Okay, I could go on all day. Let’s just sum it up by saying he is a Gentleman, in the truest sense of the word. And yet he thinks he is a monster, unworthy of love, who should not exist. As Robert Pattinson puts it, he hates himself and wants to die but he’s too chicken to do anything about it because he doesn’t know what – if anything – exists for him after this life. I’m so glad that Stephenie Meyer started writing Midnight Sun because it gives us the readers such a clear picture of Edward. In Twilight we see him as Bella sees him, and in her eyes he is perfect, but that’s only because she is in love with him. Most other people would probably not see him as perfect, only Bella. So Midnight Sun lets us see what he thinks of himself as well as everyone else who’s thoughts he reads. Edward is not really perfect, he is flawed just like everyone else. He tends to over react to things. A great example of that would be Chapter 3 in New Moon, or his approach to the whole love triangle in Eclipse. But all in all he really does have Bella’s best interest at heart and he would do anything for her. And really, what more can you ask for than complete devotion from the person you love? Edward is not only beautiful but also generous to a fault. And, even knowing all I do about Edward, I’m still totally and completely 110% Team Edward. Like Bella says, there wasn’t any choice to make... It was always Edward…

I tried to find some pictures that I haven't already used, so here is something new!!

Seeing this, how could you not melt to a giant pile of goo at the very thought of him?

Edward saying good-bye to Bella as he goes to hunt the bad vamps and Bella goes into hiding. This is the scene in the movie when he says "You are my life now." In the book he says it in her bedroom after she has told him that she loves him - actually told him, not just muttered it in her sleep.

Here are Edward and Bella dancing at the prom. Klutz that she is, Bella does not dance, but Edward convinces her and with him as her partner, he makes it easy for her. Did I mention he's good at everything?!?!

Edward and Bella in the movie scene where she confronts him about being a vampire. It's different from the book, but I think the feeling is there. He is worried that she will run away from him screaming and in fear, but she doesn't.

Ahhhh, the crooked smile. There are really no words to describe it, you just have to see it...

Edward at his piano. Honestly, this is the movie scene I am dying to see!! I. CAN'T. WAIT. A boy who can play the piano... Is there really anything better than that??? I didn't think so.

Edward at his car. The brooding stare -- is it getting hot in here?

Okay, now I know the temperature just went up! Edward in sunglasses... Seriously, give us girls a chance!!

Edward Cullen...
Enough said.

Reasons I Love Twilight - #10...

Reason # 10 – Shiny Volvo’s! (and their Stupid Owners)

Edward drives a Volvo. Why? Because a Volvo is strong and powerful and fast and beautiful and expensive, and because he is responsible and doesn’t want to show off too much. This is one part of the movie that bugs me – Stephenie Meyer described his car in the book as 4 door sedan, and the movie shows him driving what appears to be a 2 door hatchback. Um, hello!! Edward Cullen would NEVER drive a hatchback!!! I mean, do you really expect his vampire siblings to climb over the seat to get into the back? He drives them to school each day because his car is less ‘ostentatious’ then Rosalie’s Red M3 BMW.

On her first day of school Bella is relieved to see that all of the other students drive older cars, making her old truck fit right in. This is a stark contrast to her old school in Phoenix. Well, she notices that all but one of the cars in the parking lot are old. There is one car that catches her attention – a shiny silver Volvo. When she finally realizes that the car belongs to the Cullen kids she says –

“I saw the two Cullens and the Hale twins getting into their car. It was the shiny new Volvo. Of course.”

As Edward ignores her, and she gets more and more frustrated with him, she begins to hate the sight of his car. Then one morning, as he is trying to talk to her, the morning he asks her to go to Seattle with him, she thinks a line that has been embraced by fans everywhere. As Edward tries to convince her that her truck can’t make it to Seattle and back, she gets offended, and says to him –

“I don’t see how that is any of your business.” Stupid, shiny Volvo owner.

This is a picture I made for Jillen. She loves this saying!!!

And here is a picture of the car, the way it SHOULD be. This picture was on Stephenie Meyer's website showing what Edward's car is.

And here is a picture of the car from the movie. Nice, but come on!! Seriously, a hatchback?!?!?! Edward would never drive that...

Here are Edward and Bella driving home from Port Angeles. At least that must be it since they are wearing the same clothes that they wear in the Port Angeles scenes.

And here is Edward after he has driven Bella to school and he is going around to open her door. What a gentleman...

Ahhh, I’ll never look at a Volvo the same way again after reading this book. :D

Reasons I Love Twilight - #11...

Reason # 11 – Bella’s Bedroom

So many of the one on one scenes between Edward and Bella take place in her bedroom. I know I’ve mentioned before that Edward comes into Bella’s room at night to watch over her. He feels very protective of her and he wants to make sure she is safe at all times. He knows what a klutz she is and that she seems to be a magnet for danger, and since nighttime is the only time she isn’t really a danger to herself, he kind of feels like it’s his responsibility to protect her from the danger from outside forces. And there is certainly plenty of that! Especially as the books continue on.

Now I know that it’s not the greatest example for teenaged girls to read about a boy hanging out in his girlfriends’ bedroom all night, every night, but you gotta understand that one – it’s fictional; I mean come on, what teenaged boy never has to sleep? And two – Edward is very respectful and moral and would never allow anything improper to happen between him and Bella, so there’s no danger of anything along those lines going on. The first night that Edward stays is quite a while before Bella finds out that he is staying. She freaks out a bit when he tells her that he comes to her room every night to watch her sleep, but she soon gets over it after realizing that he only does it because he is in love with her and he’s worried about her.

Here are some pictures from Bella’s room. I have seen a picture somewhere of Edward standing watch over Bella as she sleeps, but of course now I can’t find it. :D If I come across it I will add it, but these will do for now.

Bella on her bed -

Bella talking to Edward -

The big first kiss scene - (apparently there is only one in the movie, although there aren't too many in the book either)

I think it might be a little uncomfortable to go to sleep every night with Edward watching over you. I mean, it doesn’t make much sense to get you hair all fixed and your make up on just to go to sleep. But how could you go to sleep looking anything but your best? I mean, you’ve seen Edward right??? How could you not want to look as great as possible when he’s around? :D Although I guess Bella doesn’t have to worry about that. At least not according to this bit from that first night that she knows he’s staying –

I took the stairs two at a time, trying to be quiet, and flew into my room, closing the door tightly behind me.
Edward hadn’t moved a fraction of an inch, a carving of Adonis perched on my faded quilt. I smiled, and his lips twitched, the statue coming to life.
His eyes appraised me, taking in the damp hair, the tattered shirt. He raised one eyebrow. “Nice.”
I grimaced.
“No, it looks good on you.”
“Thanks,” I whispered.

Oh that Edward, he’s so smooth… :D

Variety Interviews Spunk...

Here we have 15 minutes and 38 seconds of amazement. You'll have to turn off the music at the bottom of the blog if you wanna watch it, but it's worth it. He talks a lot about Twilight and even some about New Moon and some of his other movies. After watching it you'll totally see why he's so great...

Yeah, this one was for me. ;)

Reasons I Love Twilight - #12...

Reason # 12 – Edward Listens to Bella’s Thoughts Through Jessica

After Edward has saved Bella in Port Angeles, he is curious about how she really feels about him. So are her friends! The next morning, after Edward has given her a ride to school, Bella meets with her friend Jessica to get the coat that she left in Jessica’s car the night before. Jessica is dying to know what’s going on between Edward and Bella and as she walks away from them, Edward tells Bella –

“She wants to know if we’re secretly dating. And she wants to know how you feel about me.”

After asking Edward what she should say to Jessica, he says –

“I suppose you could say yes to the first…if you don’t mind – it’s easier than any other explanation.”
“I don’t mind,” I said in a faint voice.
“And as for her other question…well, I’ll be listening to hear the answer to that one myself.”

Later when Jessica sees Bella in their math class, the questions start, and of course Edward is listening to Jessica’s thoughts & questions and Bella’s answers. As good as the conversation is in Twilight, it’s even better in Midnight Sun. Bella says things to purposely annoy Edward since she knows he will be listening, but she also says her true feelings which cause Edward to worry. I think my favorite part of the conversation, and the part that really puts Edward on edge, is towards the end when they say –

“So you like him, then?” She wasn’t about to give up.
“Yes,” I said curtly.
“I mean, do you really like him?” she urged.
“Yes,” I said again, blushing, I hoped that detail wouldn’t register in her thoughts.
She’d had enough with the single syllable answers. “How much do you like him?”
“Too much,” I whispered back. “More than he likes me. But I don’t see how I can help that.” I sighed, one blush blending in the next.

Trust me, if you haven’t already you should really read the Midnight Sun version of this conversation. It’s amazing!! The link is --
http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/pdf/midnightsun_partialdraft3.pdf
and you can type 223 into the page number box (right next to the total pages – it looks like this -- / 264.) That will take you to the start of the conversation. It’s awesomeness to the tenth power!!

I looked all around and couldn't find any pictures of Jessica. I know there are some out there, but it's late and I don't feel like looking anymore. So I decided to just use some gorgeous pictures of Edward and Bella or Rob and Kristen instead. And WOW!! I found a couple of amazing ones!! But I think I will save some of them for later and just use these for now.

Here is a picture from the above mentioned scene in the movie -- the morning after Port Angeles when Edward drives Bella to school. I'm not sure how close to the book they will stay with this scene, but I think it got cut. Bummer, it would have been fun to see Edward react to Bella confessing to her friend that she's in love with him, knowing that he's listening.

Here is a pretty shot of them together for a recent magazine photoshoot. It is very pretty...

And if we wanna talk pretty, how about this? This is an outtake from that new Entertainment Weekly magazine photoshoot. Hard to believe I found an ever more beautiful picture of them tonight, huh??? Like I said, I gotta save something for later. And it will be worth the wait. Trust me!

We’re getting close!!! Almost to our top ten!! Can you stand it?!?!?!

Reasons I Love Twilight - #13...

Reason # 13 – Edward says “Brandy”

I saved this one for #13 because 13 is my number and this reason is about me. So there aren’t too many women/girls who can claim that Edward ever said their name. Unless you have the name Bella, Alice, Rosalie, Esme, Reneesme, Renee, Leah, Jessica, Angela, Elizabeth, Jane, Heidi, Tanya, Irina, and a few others, chances are good that Edward never said your name. Now I know that Edward didn’t actually say my name as in talking about a girl named Brandy/i, but he did say it, and that still counts!! Want proof??? Well, here you go!!

This is from the meadow scene when Edward is trying to describe to Bella exactly how tempting her blood is to him. If you want to look it up it's on page 267. :)

“You see, every person smells different, has a different essence. If you locked an alcoholic in a room full of stale beer, he’d gladly drink it. But he could resist, if he wished to, if he were a recovering alcoholic. Now let’s say you placed in that room a glass of hundred-year-old BRANDY, the rarest, finest cognac – and filled the room with its warm aroma – how do you think he would fare then?”

See, he said my name… :D Did he ever say yours????? :P

So since this reason is all about me, I decided to post some of my favorite recent pictures of My Spunk and share the beauty that has been captured on film. Can you believe he doesn't like to look at pictures of himself??? Silly boy!! But I guess that is part of his charm, he just doesn't grasp how truly glorious he is. :)

Here is a picture of him in Mexico a couple of weeks ago doing a radio interview. I just love that he's dressed up with a tie, but the shirt sleeves are rolled up and the shirt's not tucked in. He's still casual even when he's dressy. And his smile is so great... No wonder the Mexican fans mobbed him everywhere he went!

Here he is about 2 weeks ago when he received the New Hollywood Award from the Hollywood Film Festival Awards Gala for his role in How To Be. There were some very cute interviews to come out of that with him and his stating the fact that he doesn't even have an apartment right now. He joked about having to leave the award in his car! Luckily I read today that he does have a place to stay for now, a little apartment that his management has him set up in. And it's probably a good thing that he doesn't leave that award on the dashboard in his car since his car is 20 years old and the old dashboard recently caught fire and he had to replace it. Yeah, no need to worry about that red light that's still blinking on the new dashboard... :D

And here is a picture of him from the Q&A after How To Be showed at the Austin Film Festival a few weeks ago. I just love the look on his face when he's thinking about things. And that blue shirt he was wearing did some amazing things with his eye color. Nice...

And here he is in Rome last week at a book signing. Oh the hands...

And this one is from Friday night when he and the Twilight cast taped an episode of a new MTV show called Spoilers. Looks like someone finally got that hair cut he had been hoping for. ;) And luckily for us the Spunk Hair is still there!! That episode airs on Friday November 14th. Watch for it, it sounds like it is pretty good!

Another picture from his time in Mexico. This time is was a photo session. Thank you Mr. Camera Man. This picture is a gift from above...

Here is an outtake from the new Entertainment Weekly magazine that features Twilight. More on that in a second. Lovely, truly lovely.

A picture from a photo shoot in Rome last week. He, Kristen Stewart, and Katherine Hardwick all had their pictures taken while they were there, and while the girls' pictures were good too, I'm kinda partial to this one...

Speaking of that Entertainment Weekly magazine... They are the ones who had the not so flattering pictures of him and Kristin on their magazine a few months ago and they apologized to him, causing him to say "Did I really look that bad?" in his cute little British accent. Luckily they have done a new article on him and Kristen and Twilight and they did 3 special covers - this one, one of Kristen, and then one of the two of them together. The magazines went on sale Friday and when I went to Barnes and Noble today (Saturday), I got the last one they had. As I walked in the door I saw the magazine racks to the left of the front door and there on the top shelf was My Spunk looking at me. I'm sure he was waiting for me. ;) So I walked over and picked up the magazine and then searched to see if they had anymore, but they didn't! So when I checked out I asked the girl if they had been selling a lot of them and she said "Yes!! I can't believe how many we have sold today and yesterday! I think we are already out!" I told her that this was the only one I could find and that it was luckily the one I wanted and she said "Good thing you got it now because I don't think we are getting anymore." Yippee!!! It was my lucky day!!! And the article inside was SO worth the $4.00!!!! :D

Not to mention the pictures... SO worth it!!!!

Yeah!! A Twilight reason that's all about me!! Have I got some great pictures or what?!?!

Reasons I Love Twilight - #14...

Reason # 14 – A Quote

Another quote that I love. It’s so sweet; Edward always knows just the right thing to say. While Bella is in hiding with Alice and Jasper, Edward is hunting for James -- the vamp who is looking for Bella so that he can kill her. Bella is worried about Edward being hurt, while Edward is worried about Bella being hurt. Both of them are anxious to see each other again and when Edward calls to talk to Bella this is what they say –

“I miss you,” I whispered.
“I know, Bella. Believe me, I know. It’s like you’ve taken half my self away with you.”
“Come and get it, then,” I challenged.
“Soon, as soon as I possibly can. I will make you safe first.” His voice was hard.
“I love you,” I reminded him.
“Could you believe that, despite everything I’ve put you through, I love you, too?”
“Yes, I can, actually.”
“I’ll come for you soon.”
“I’ll be waiting.”

Here's a picture from the movie of the scene when Bella has to leave -

And some pictures showing how Edward wants to protect Bella -

They sure are pretty...

Have I mentioned lately how much I love Edward???

The next reason is good... Not too many girls can claim it!! :P
