Eighth and Ninth Favorite Things...

Well, I have finally gone through the pictures of my 8th and 9th favorite things, and let me tell you it was no easy job!! Having a digital camera is fun, but we took about 200 too many pictures!! And then I have to go through them all! Oh well, there are some fun shots!!
My 8th favorite thing is daring kiddies! They love to swim and they have loved out little backyard pool. They were excited a couple of weeks ago to swim in the hot weather! They were showing off for the camera, and (sadly for my sofa's and bed's) this isn't the only place they like to jump from. But at least they look cute doing it into the water!

Jayden Cannonballs!!

Jillen and Jayden Jump!

Jillen Flies!

Girl Power!

Jayden and Jensen Jump!

Jayden Steps Off!

Happy Swimming Jensen!

My 9th favorite thing is Lightning!!! I love a good thunder and lightning storm! We had an amazing one a couple of weeks ago and actually got some good pictures!

Now back to my Roswell marathon... :)

Bathroom Project...Finally!

Well, I finally finished it! Boy was I glad!! It sure doesn't look like much but just know that I have been working on it for a month and that the CAD drawings alone have accounted for probably half that time! And that's with me being pretty decent at the program! :) Thanks Bri for letting me borrow your last name. ;) We had to invent a client so I figured I will start using family names and yours was first alphabetically! :D Hope you enjoy the new bathroom plans!

This is the materials board. On it are all of the materials that would be used in the new bathroom. I also included a drawing of the main wall (an accident when one of my drawings was too big for the pop-up board, but I had already spent an hour coloring it in...) and a floorplan of the whole master bedroom. There are also pictures of the fixtures that would be used (toilet, sink, shower, faucets, etc.), the tile, wood, and paint samples, as well as the carpet.

This is the flip-up (pop-up) model that we had to have. It has the floor plan and then the wall elevations, or what the wall would look like if you were standing in the room. It is kind of neat and it's a great way to visually explain what the finished room will look like. All the surfaces with a diagonal pattern or a tile pattern would be granite tile and I used about 6 different colored pencils to make it look like the granite sample I have on the board. Then I had to go back over it and draw in the tiles. To say the least, I was glad when I was done!! But it turned out pretty good and I'm happy so I guess that's what is really important.

School, School, School...

Wow! I have been busy with school this week! :( I have a huge project due on Thursday so it looks like this crazy pace will continue for a few more days. Who knew a bathroom remodel project could give me such a headache! Well, I guess I should have known since I still haven't been able to finish my kids bathroom that I started in March...

Well, here are the latest drawings from my Color Rendering class. Believe it or not I am getting better, even if it doesn't look like it! :D
This first one is a 1 point perspective drawing of an interior room. We were supposed to put people in it but not render them, so the room is not haunted if that's what you're thinking! ;)

This next one is an outdoor landscape design. We had to include water, trees, and a focal point. My focal point was the seating area, but I will probably end up redoing it...

This last one is another landscape design, but this one was drawn by a man named Mike Lin, a landscape designer. He's pretty famous and it's his style that we are learning. But I did render it, in class along with everyone else. We watched the instructor as she did hers and we followed along. It was a good learning experience and it did help when I did my own.

If I survive the next few days I will post some pictures of my bathroom remodel project. And one of these days I will get those swimming pictures posted!! :) Along with some awesome lightning ones we took the other night!!!

September 12 of 12

I decided to try something new. Several of the people at my ALIAS friend site do this and I have always wanted to try it but since I didn't have a digital camera I couldn't. But now I do so here I go!! It the idea of Chad Darnell, and if you want to check out his 12 of 12 you can go here --> http://chaddarnell.typepad.com/runchadrun2/12_of_12/index.html. People all over the world are doing it, it's a really great idea he had. The deal is that you take 12 pictures of your day on the 12th day of the month, and then you blog it. Sound fun? I figure it is kind of like a journal, documenting my day. My life is really boring so none of the pictures are too exciting, but it's a pretty accurate description of my day! :)

7:30am
This is when the 3 younger kids get on the bus and leave for school. Jorden doesn't leave until 8:30, although today he had a late start so he didn't have to leave until 9:45! It sure does make my day go easier when all the kids make the bus. Now I know how my mom must have felt!! :)

11:00am
After sleeping in a little since I got hardly any sleep the night before, I had to get ready for the day. I sure was happy that I bought a new brush yesterday! The old one (which was only about 3 months old) had lost most of the plastic tips on the end of the bristles, the girls hated when I brushed their hair with it! And I was so happy to have some new earrings!! My other gold and silver hoop earrings are about a year old and they aren't looking too good anymore! Luckily these ones are nice and shiny!!

12:00pm
How happy am I that Coke decided to start making a Vanilla cola again?!?! So Happy!!! It's not as good as Vanilla Pepsi, but it's pretty great!! Thanks Coke!!!

1:00pm
Since I had school in the evening, it was the day that all 3 of the younger kids go to the Children's Center at MCC. They have to take a dinner so it's sandwiches they get!! I think it's so funny that all of them like peanut butter, but they will only eat it certain ways. Jillen has to have peanut butter with honey on whole pieces of bread. Jayden has to have peanut butter with grape jelly on whole pieces of bread but with no crust. And Jensen has to have peanut butter with grape jelly, with no crust, cut into 4 squares. Try keeping that straight every time you make a sandwich!!! :D

1:05pm
Here is a sad, pathetic little doggie sitting and waiting for any food scraps that might fall onto the floor. Pitiful...

1:30pm
Time to start some laundry. Why is it that my laundry pile never seems to get smaller?

2:00pm
Today was my little baby brother Brett's 20th birthday! It's still hard to believe he is getting old enough that he's not a teenager anymore. I still remember him as the little boy that I used to take to baseball games, a baby boy that I dressed in dresses and bows, a little boy who carried around a yellow plastic motorcycle that he called his "Un-Un." I called him to tell him - Happy Birthday Brett!!!

2:30pm
Time to study!! Who knows what IBC means??? Yeah, I didn't think anyone knew. It stands for International Building Code, and that's the class I had to study for. We had a test and I didn't do as badly as I thought I would. Good thing I studied!!

4:00pm
On my way to school, with 3 kiddies in tow! Everytime we go they ask me why we take the freeway. I'm not sure what the curiosity is but I know I hate the traffic on the way home! People are crazy drivers, that's for sure!! The kids go to the Children's Center on campus and for the most part they love it. Jayden has a hard time since he's one of only a couple of boys, and most of the other kids are younger than him. I think he would be happier staying home and playing video games. Oh well...

8:00pm
Time for dinner! I actually made something that almost all of the kids would eat! Shocking, I know! The only one who wouldn't touch it was Jensen, and she won't eat too many things. But it was good, and easy. I like that part!!

10:30pm
Finally, some folded laundry! Well, at least 1 1/2 out of 4 loads that I did today. Some got put away after dinner, and some more is still in the dryer, but at least this much is done. Now to just get it put away...

11:45pm
Time to set out the kiddies clothes for school tomorrow. Boy does it make the morning go smoother when their clothes are already set out and waiting for them when they wake up! Now if I could just get them to keep track of their shoes... Oh well, I guess we need something to work towards.

That's my day!! Hope you enjoyed it! Maybe you'll want to try it next month!! :)

A Seventh Favorite Thing...

Well, it's late and we have early church tomorrow so I'll make this quick. Maybe tomorrow I will go through the swimming pictures I've been wanting to post, that will be my 8th thing. :)

I think everyone has that one great Hollywood crush. You know, the one that you would faint over if you ever actually were in the same room with? The one that you would babble to if they ever spoke to you? The one that you would kick yourself forever over if you met them and didn't ask for an autograph, or a picture, or didn't tell them how great you think they are? Come on, admit it, you can think of one person like that! :) Well, I have one. And he is amazing!! I think he is the best looking actor around, and he's funny too which makes him that much more appealing! And it doesn't hurt that he is in my ALIAS... I am so excited that he will be back on tv this fall, although I don't know that I am excited for the show, mostly just to see him! :) And he has a movie coming out this fall and another one or two should be showing up in the next year or so. He's beautiful and the #1 guy on my list of crushes. There is a Coldplay song called "Green Eyes" and the lyrics fit him pretty well --

Honey you are a rock,

Upon which I stand,

And I come here to talk,

I hope you understand,

That green eyes,

Yeah the spotlight shines upon you,

And how could anybody deny you...

Michael Vartan...I can't believe you're not on every hottest eligible bachelor list, but I'm kinda glad! :)
Enjoy the wonder that is Michael! ;)

(This picture is from ALIAS and it means a lot more if you know the scene... :) )

(I love this picture, it is of him and his pool table. I just love the hat!)

Tagged!!!

Okay, so Brooke tagged me, but I do love these games!!! I always find out so much stuff about people! :) Here We Go!!

4 jobs I've had... 1- Taco Bell -- I worked there the summer before my senior year of high school and then on Saturdays for the first half of the year. I was the Drive-Thru girl on Saturdays and it was fun. There were lots of kids that worked there and several from other schools so it was kinda neat to get to know them. 2- The Paper Mill -- I worked at the Paper Mill in Snowflake for 2 summers after high school. I drove a forklift and unloaded train cars & trucks and then I worked a log crane & filled a conveyor belt with logs. That part was kinda like Nintendo. And when I was on the trucks (forklifts) I always got a good tan on my arms. ;) 3- The Corner Store -- I worked there when I first moved to Mesa. It was kinda like a Circle K and it was fun, except that I worked there from 3 to 11pm and went to school from 8am to 12 noon, so I got no sleep or study time. Oh well, at least I got all the soda and slushies I could drink!! 4- Doctors Office -- I worked in a doctors office doing filing and then medical billing. It was fun and I liked the people I worked with but I was happy to quit working and get to stay home with Jorden, who was 1 1/2 years old when I stopped working. I've never regretting losing that job!

4 movies I could watch over and over...EASY!!! 1- Dirty Dancing, 2- A Walk to Remember, 3- Blue Crush, and 4- Return to Me. I love them all!!!

4 places I've lived... Mesa, Gilbert, Snowflake, and Thatcher. All in Arizona... :)

4 favorite TV/reality shows... 1- ALIAS, 2- Veronica Mars, 3-Roswell, 4- Lost. If you want just reality shows then -- 1- Meerkat Manor, 2- The Amazing Race, 3- The Hills, and 4- Real World/Road Rules Challenge.

4 favorite foods... Um, let's see -- 1- Broccoli and Cheese Sauce, 2- Enchiladas, 3- Strawberry Pie, 4- Sub Sandwiches. (now I'm hungry...)

4 websites I visit daily... 1- Wordslinger (my old ALIAS fansite, SD-1, closed so several of us moved to a new site opened by some awesome ladies!!), 2- Blogs (mine, Brooke's, Kelly's, Rachelle's, etc), 3- The Safe House (a Michael Vartan fan site, home of the Vartan Ho's ;) ), 4- People and E! On-Line (I gotta keep up to date on the Hollywood Happenings!!).

4 hobbies I enjoy... 1- Relaxing (which is pretty much all I want to do lately), 2- Watching my shows (ALIAS, Veronica Mars, Roswell, Lost, ect), 3- Scrapbooking (which I have not done in, honestly, 6 years... :( ), 4- School Projects (that is pretty much where I focus all of my artistic talents these days).

4 friends I tag... Gee, 1- Melissa, 2- Tami, 3- Kelly, and 4- Greenlee. Who knows if any of them will ever see this, but if so then the challenge has been made!! :)

A Fifth and Sixth Favorite Thing...

Well, since I couldn't get onto this blog all weekend, I guess I will make up for what I was going to post!! I think tomorrow I will post my seventh favorite thing, but I have to go through some pictures first so I know what to post. So we will go with this for now!

My Fifth Favorite thing is my school!! I love all the projects we get to work on. It has been really fun, even though I feel like I am exhausted all the time! And it isn't very often when I don't feel like ripping my hair out because I have WAY too many things to do! :) Here is a project I turned in today. It's a Bubble Diagram which is something used in Space Planning to show the accessibility of one room to another. We had to do a residential space so here it is --

My Sixth Favorite thing is a little tv show that ended a few years back, but I still love it. It only lasted 3 seasons but every so often the Sci-Fi channel shows an 8 hour marathon of it. Plus every Friday morning at 5am they show an episode. I always record it because I really don't want to get up that early!! :) Roswell was a show about 3 alien teenagers (one of which went on to star in Grey's Anatomy) living in Roswell, NM. They face challenges, try to get home, and fall in love with humans. All in all, it's never a dull day in Roswell!! I love this show and it is surely one of my favorites. Such funny lines and heartfelt characters, it sure was a joy!!

A Fourth Favorite Thing...

I have another favorite thing that I don't usually get to enjoy much. It's SLEEP!!! :) I love to sleep!! Even though my kids are getting older it's still not very often that I get a full nights sleep. If I could I would sleep until noon or after every day! Sadly, I don't like to GO to sleep, I just like to STAY asleep! :D

I hope you enjoy some of my favorite sleeping pictures over this long, lazy weekend! Maybe they will put you in the mood to sleep... ;)

Jensen Sleeping...just too tired to eat!

Jayden Sleeping...I guess the singing concert we were at was a little too long!

Jillen Sleeping...Baths can be tiring too!

Jorden Sleeping...right before he came home from the hospital.
