Here He Comes, Here Comes Speed Racer...

It's that time of year again.

Can't you hear dad's all over America cursing at their tools, boys complaining that the paint job is not quite right, mom's wishing the words Pinewood and Derby had never been invented? Luckily we didn't have to suffer through too much preparation time this year. It was Jayden's first Derby and he was pretty excited. We didn't have too high of expectations since Jorden's cars never did very well, maybe that's why the approach to it this time was so laid back. Either way, it wasn't to bad an experience, and we might even be able to make it through 2 more years of this! Here's how the day went --

Here's Jayden getting ready to race his car. He's had a hot and cold love afair with Cub Scouts, but at the end of the day he usually likes it. He had been looking forward to this race for weeks, and we were just glad he didn't completely ruin his car before it finally got here! :P

Here is his car, in the left lane, winning it's heat. Jayden is the one farthest to the right cheering it on!

Here is the little blue car at the finish line. Yeah, a mom with a faster camera probably would have gotten the picture before the other car caught up... Oh well! :P He had this cool little engine thing that fit on the car but he glued it on upside down. I can not even begin to say how much it was bugging me and how much I wanted to rip it off and fix it, but it was his car and as long as he was happy, well, he was happy... :)

And at the end of the race, he had only lost one run!! He got 2nd place!! o_O What?!?! We never imagined that was possible for us!! But he was sure excited!!!

Here he is along with the 1st and 3rd place boys. Don't ask what's with the miss matched gloves. I was just glad he was fully dressed with shoes on! :D

Here he is with his certificate and the hat and water bottle he got as a prize. They sure decorated everything up so cute! All the racing stuff made the boys really excited. And the fact that it was so laid back and easy going made it really fun. The whole thing was just about letting the boys have fun and race each other. That was all that mattered!! It was great!!!

Oh, and what do little sisters do once they've reached their racing limit? Start dismantling the decorations... Um, who's child is that??? :)

Easygoing Veronica Mars, huh? You know how fat men are sometimes called Tiny...

Did you just hear my screams of glee about 10 minutes ago???

NO?!?!?!

Well, maybe you were busy or had ear plugs in or something. Either way, my day just got a whole lot better! It looks like New Moon and How To Be have a little competition in the "Movies Brandi is Waiting Not So Patiently To See" category! Oh, I can't believe it's really happening!!! Want the details??? Go here and read for yourself!!!

http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b79975_veronica_mars_movie_finally_in_works.html

Oh Veronica, how I have missed you!!! :)

A little season one --

Some season two --

And finally some season three --

Just so they know, if The CW helps out in ANY WAY with this movie, I just might be willing to forgive them for axing Veronica in the first place. But it had better be something really great if they want me to actually start watching their channel again. 2 years without it hasn't been too bad for me, I gotta say. :D

Well, you know what they say:
Veronica Mars, she's a marshmallow.

To find out more about this most awesome show go the the All Things Veronica... link on the side of the blog. It's pretty amazing!!!!

Oh yippee!!!!!!!

Fun Fact #3...

This one isn't so much a fact about me as it is stuff I thought about today. Just some random thoughts that went through my mind at different points in the day.

* Does Wuthering Heights ever get any easier to read?
* Aren't any of these radio stations going to play my Kings of Leon song Sex on Fire today?
* How much do divorce lawyers cost and do you really need one?
* Did I just burn those brownies?
* Will my friend Jennifer drive by my house someday in the hearse she drives at work and let me take her picture?
* Is there enough milk left in the fridge for dinner?
* When can I paint my walls?
* Why is my house so cold?
* I wonder if I'm going to find a job?
* How much more laundry can I possible fold today?
* How much longer until 10 years from now?
* Am I completely crazy yet?

Interesting stuff huh? :D Just some odd things that went through my mind at some point today. And just think, these were pretty tame!! :P

Random Picture!!!

Here is my Jayden at 2 years old. It was late one night and the 3 big kids were in their beds and I was trying to take some pictures of Jensen who was about 2 months old. Jayden decided to come and help, so I got some pictures of him too. I'm actually glad I did. He had the cutest little curls in his hair back then. It made me so sad when we finally cut them off... :( Maybe that's why I always let his hair grow out long now, I'm hoping the curls will come back! Oh well, he sure was a cute little guy!! :)

Hopefully soon I can get the pictures from our exciting weekend uploaded onto the computer so that I can post them here. We had a pretty action packed weekend!! :D

Need for New Moon...

I got to play with my PhotoShop today!! Oh, how I have missed it!! :P And as long as I save every few minutes I don't even have to worry too much about the computer freezing up and dying on me. :D So what did I make, you might ask... Well, I wanted something for the side of my blog that would feature one of my new favorite songs. There is a whole movement going on over it and I couldn't be more excited about it!

The sequel to Twilight is New Moon, and the movie starts filming in March and is due to be released in November. There is a songstress by the name of Hana Pestle who is a huge Twilight fan, and she wrote a song a few years ago that she thought would be perfect for the New Moon movie. I gotta say, I agree! And it appears I am not the only fan who does. The words express the feeling of the movie and all the emotions that Bella goes through when Edward leaves her. That's right, he leaves! How am I going to survive over half of the movie without seeing My Spunk??? :( But it will be worth it to see him come back, and you know he will. Plus there are a few ways that they can add him into the middle of the movie and still make us miss him. Anyway!!! This song is perfect for several of the scenes in the book, but the haunting music makes one scene stand out to me -- the scene in the middle of the book where Edward has been gone for over 6 months and Bella jumps off a cliff into the ocean. I'm not gonna tell you why, you will have to find out for yourself! :P This song is really beautiful and I even added it to my playlist -- it's the very last song, after all of My Spunk's songs. :) You should listen to it! You won't be sorry!!

So, here is my creation that will be on the side of my blog, under the countdown counter for the movie. I used the cover of the book and the words to the first verse of the song. Then I added a picture of Bella and Edward that is from an Entertainment Weekly article that they did in November. I just thought that it fit the mood of Bella being alone, searching for Edward, and him being right behind her without her knowing. And no, when he leaves her in the book he doesn't keep tabs on her. He is just gone... Heartbreaking, I know! It's almost a crime to have so much pretty and not see him for 2 solid hours. But he will be back and present the whole time in Eclipse so at least we have that to look forward to!! :D

Here's a link to the MySpace page that Hana created for her song, in case you're interested! http://www.myspace.com/NEEDFORNEWMOON

Fun Fact #2...

I don't watch much tv anymore.
Shocking, I know. I used to have a show every night that I wanted to watch but over the last few years that number had dropped dramatically. I think now there are only 2 or 3 shows that I HAVE to watch and maybe a couple more that I like to watch. I guess I'm just too busy plus I have other things I want to do when I get a free minute.
One show that I make sure to watch every week is The Big Bang Theory. It is Hil.Ar.I.Ous!!! I haven't laughed this hard at a TV show in a long time! If you haven't seen it, you should check it out. The character Sheldon is so great!! It's basically about 4 nerdy guys and their lives - how they try to meet girls, try to make friends, prove their theories about any number of things, and mainly just try to blend into society. At which they fail miserably! But it's so funny to watch!! It airs Monday nights on CBS at 7:00 pacific time. Right after it is How I Met Your Mother, which is also pretty great. Give it a whirl! I think you might just love it. I know I do!!! D

Random Picture!
I think I like this feature. Maybe I will keep doing it! :P
Little Jorden in Antie Bri's sunglasses. What a funny 4 year old he was! :D

Fun Fact #1...

So, I've been toying with an idea for a while now. In an effort to post a little more often, and with more random things, I decided to start posting Fun Facts about myself. Now keep in mind, these might be things I do, things I say, things I think, things people around me do, say, or think. Anything really. Some of them might make me appear to be a freak, some might make me seem endearing, others might make you think that you really don't know me as well as you think you do. Either way, this is going to be my little outlet so I hope you get a kick out of it. :D

Fun Fact #1 -

Whenever I am riding in a car and I see another car with only one headlight I instinctively say Perdiddle, kiss my hand, and smack it on the roof. Why, you might ask? I have no clue, other than my friends and I used to do it as teenagers and it must have stuck. I know, I'm strange. :P

Time for a random picture since I hate writing a post and not posting a picture!! :D

I was going through some pictures of Jensen the other day and I realized that I had forgotten how cute she as a little baby. Of course I think she is a beautiful girl now, but she was such a cute little thing, with her 'plug' constantly stuck in her mouth. :)

I can honestly say the only time I ever think about having any more kids is when I see a baby that looks like my babies looked (luckily I have only ever seen one) or when I see pictures of my kids when they were babies. Good thing I don't look at those pictures very often 'cause this baby factory is closed!! :P

2009 Already...

Wow!! 2009 already?? Here's what happened at our house just after midnight.

Out with the old...

(I gotta say I was sad to see the Lost calendar go)

And...

In with the new!!

(But I've been waiting since what, August? September? to put up my new Twilight one!! And it's so pretty!!! :) )

On a side note, we seem to have rang in the new year with a rather unwelcome visitor to our computer. Depending on how long he stays, and how comfy he gets in our hard drive, things may be kinda slow around here for a while. I'll do my best to keep things alive and moving, but surgery may be warranted before too long. Hopefully we can manage to save all the really important stuff, like pictures and music and school projects and the like.

I wonder, do you think Heavenly Father would forgive me if I killed the person who invented computer viruses? Would the courts consider that justifiable homicide?

Something to think about...
